Author Description Beth Hetland is an American cartoonist, illustrator and educator.<br />Hetland studied fine arts at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA 2009) and comics at The Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont (MFA 2011). She is now back at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago as an adjoint Professor, where she mostly lectures about cartooning and comics writing. <br />After self-publishing comics for years, her first major graphic novel, the psychological horror <i>Tender</i>, was published in 2024 by Fantagraphics.<br />
